Frequently Asked Questions About Wills And Trusts
The attorneys of Anastasi & Nielsen frequently receive questions from our clients about estate planning matters. We wanted to take a few moments to provide you with some answers to these questions, and we encourage you to reach out to us for more information.
Do I need a trust?
Although we usually recommend trusts for our clients, there are many different factors that determine if a trust is a better option than a will. When we sit down with you to assess your situation, we will help you determine exactly what you need to create your estate plan.
What's the difference between a will and a trust?
A will is a written document that says which people are to receive property and money from your estate after you die. To achieve this, a will may have to go through the probate process in court. A trust is a written instrument which leaves a specific set of instructions to the trustee on how to handle the property in the trust. The major benefits to this over a will are more control, and bypassing the probate process which can be costly and time-consuming.
How much does a trust cost?
The better question is do you need a trust, a will or a full estate plan? We personalize what you need based on your situation and goals. As such, the cost can vary between $500 to $2,500.
Why not use an online legal service?
Online legal services can be very cost-effective. However, there are many aspects which most people don't consider when creating their will or trust, and an automated service may not plan for the proper considerations.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept all major credit cards at our firm.
Are payment plans available?
We offer our services at reasonable rates, and are more than happy to work out payment plans with you if it is necessary.
